I have a shattering ogre which I got from Crawmax. Checked by williowtree and it showed that acc is still the ogre part but the prefix is shattering. -- Random guy
Both guns exist legitimately in game. But both are platforms for heavy modding, particularly the serpens. For example, you see a lot of Anarchy Serpens running around that are definitely modded.Gamedoctor21 01:47, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
I'm fairly certain that the shattering prefix can only appear with the shattering accessory(can't remember exact name). This means both the serpens and the ogre can not be shattering because their unique parts are their accessories. The machine gun would have to be non-elemental to have a chance of legitimately being shattering because the element is linked to the accessory. Freed23 02:08, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
- Agree. That's what I say about the "Twisted" prefix too - it's not suppose to appear by itself but paired with the Twisted barrel. If a weapon has one of these select prefixes but not the part that goes with it, it's mod'ed. -- MeMadeIt 05:17, April 16, 2010 (UTC)
Aww bummer, are any of you guys willing to dupe a legit serpens cuz ive farmed like crazy and i only found a aries and a rose shield. Gt=BIGFOOT000
I have to check, but I have a really nice ogre that I found personally. I think its prefix is shattering but can't remember for 100% certain. I have several legit ogres though. Maybe Nagamarky could verify. Is "shattering" on an ogre a sign that it's modded?Gamedoctor21 16:32, April 16, 2010 (UTC)

Also if you have willowtree it is fairly easy to find a shattering accessory. It is also listed under the borderlands modding wiki although incorrectly saying it gives x3 fire. I'm pretty sure I have a legit shattering ogre that is x3 explosive. I'll double check tonight.
If you check the reference link above, you'll see that "Shattering" is a "parts-linked" prefix meaning you cannot have "Shattering" as part of a weapon's name without it also having the "acc1_Shattering" accessory. By definition, the Ogre must have the "acc5_Atlas_Ogre_Explosive" accessory and the Serpens must have the "acc4_SandS_Serpens" accessory. Since you cannot legitimately have more than 1 accessory, a "Shattering Ogre" or "Shattering Serpens" is not legit and is mod'ed! Same with any "Twisted" SMG that does not have the "barrel3_Twisted" barrel. -- MeMadeIt
