Forums: Index > Watercooler > Re-scaling patch = End of modded guns?

Yeah, yeah, yeah. I know that I'm going to catch hell for mentioning this, but...

I like to play around with modded guns. Never use them for the main story missions, but more as a pearlescent farming tool. Let's face it, there is only so much time in a day, and one must work to make a living, so to cut down time on soloing Crominax, I've been using modded guns to my advantage.

My question is...Will the modded guns that were created via Willowtree continue to work when the level scaling patch comes out? I'm not an expert on Willowtree, but it seems to serve as a gun workbench within the games' own written code. So, would the patch even affect the guns you were carrying, or would they remove/lock down specific areas of code so that guns may not be modded nor consturcted? I'm just looking at the feasability of Gearbox putting the time in to remove the modded guns versus how long it would take for modded guns to make a comeback. Anyone have any interesting facts, opinions or general banter on the subject? Please let me know what you think. Oh, and condemn me all you want for my using modded guns. Not going to get me down. I don't think anything has been known officially yet. However, I would guess that constructs (modded weapons that could actually drop in game/perfect specimens) will never be banned. While modded guns that mix match parts that NEVER drop in the game (like the shredder shredder) may very well get banned. Personally I don't care either way. I have some fun modded guns, but I loved the game before I had them and will love it long after.Gamedoctor21 22:31, September 28, 2010 (UTC)
