My brand new 1 month old SDD died last week, along with my Roland. Now I'm sure everyone backs their character up, but how regularly? I lost a month's worth of The Fifth Column/The Crow's Nest loot. My perfect Ogre, My 7-shot Vitriolic Crux, My 18 Round 650 damage Punishing Stomper, My sweet shields... And many, many, MANY, other great loot... GONE.

I could go back and play my character, but it just wouldn't feel the same. In my opinion, he died for good, and I shouldn't try to "bring him back". Just let him go and start anew. So this is his obituary, I guess: "To my Roland, the greatest Heavy Gunner there ever was".

Has anybody else ever lost their character, but had an old backup lying around? Did you try to bring your character back, or did you "move on"? happypal (talk • contribs) 07:08, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

I moved on. It's virtually impossible to bring the character back with all the guns in the game, and I find it fun to start from scratch :) Also, I update my backup every time I close the game. Auntarie 08:22, October 10, 2011 (UTC)

So after much hesitation, I decided I'd do something I've had on my mind for a long time now: Player reset!

I get to keep all my quests, but I ditch all my guns. The goal is to try to see how hard T-Bone is when you start naked.

I'm just still unsure whether or not I want to also keep my proficiencies and levels... :D happypal (talk • contribs) 08:59, October 18, 2011 (UTC)

What do you mean naked? Like, only melee? Auntarie 18:39, October 18, 2011 (UTC)

Dropping all of your proficiencies and levels is commonly called "starting a new character," and it is awesome. My savedata directory currently contains 19 characters. Add me to Auntarie's "fun to start from scratch" club. Dämmerung 19:12, October 18, 2011 (UTC)
