I have killed him several times but was wondering if there is a way get him down before the first B-A devestators come out

I always pull out my Defiler and just got for consistent headshots. He's easy as hell that way. If you keep shooting him in the head he'll never be able to get off one of his blue, lightning missile things. And while he's recovering, you reload. Rinse and repeat. It is impossible to kill him before the Badass Dev spawns, he always spawns when Knoxx is at 1/4 health. But i generally ignore him. I used to use a detonating cobra, which took him down in about 5 minutes...but now i use a 312x6 skullmasher which takes less than 2 minutes, generally because the medics give him back full health and would only take about 2 full clips to finih him if you didnt miss. I use my Orge on him until my ammo runs out, playing ring around the rosie with him by either of the crate piles, and use my defiler for the medics and devastors. The Defiler absolutely eradicates the devastors if you manage repeated headshots. -- SanguisDiabolus 00:57, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
Using a Double Anarchy is quite effective if you are willing to get in close to ensure most for the bullets hit his head, and using the Chopper even more so, but both of these type of guns chew through ammo REALLY fast even with an ammo regen mod active. Usually though, use a combination of my Genocide Avenger and Genocide Stomper to land accurate shots on his head, with the advantage that I never have ammo depletion problems; if a friend can distract the Devastators, I can usually kill Knoxx simply by standing in place and firing. I did this as a Soldier, but it could still work for a Hunter, and I imagine you would have much better luck with Sniper Rifles than I did as well. Skeve 03:17, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
I like using my Invader sniper rifle, with a sniper mod the crits hit hard, and i have ammo regen. I'd bet a penetrator would knock him down quick too, but I haven't found another one since level 40ish. I'm level 61 now...Hellz Lips 03:56, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
