You know what would kick some ass? Borderlands phone stuff!

HEYOOO!

Ok, for starters, I have little to no experience with computer science, so if I ask a stupid question or misspeak myself about something obvious, it's probably for that reason. Borderlands is actually my first PC game-sad, huh

Anyway, I was watching the Claptrap Web Series and I thought to myself, "How bitchin' would it be to have Steve the Bandit's catchphrase (HEYOOO!) for a text tone, or any other sound effect from the game for that matter?" For those of you who deem yourselves 133t, let me know if it's possible to capture a sound effect from the game or convert it from the code to a sound file. And if anyone knows how to get it onto a phone, that'd be sweet too.

It's interesting you mention this, because I thought the same thing. A few weeks ago, I found the HEYOOOO line audio in a soundboard on newgrounds. I happen to have an application on my Mac that can rip / record audio from any other application. I used Audacity to trim the file, increase the volume, and got it to work. The clip is from the first time he says it, so it is followed by a couple of gunshots, but I liked that. I'm not sure how you transfer stuff to your specific phone, but with mine, I have to go through Bluetooth. On Macs, you pair your phone to your computer (a guided process, for the most part), select "Send File..." in the Bluetooth menu, select where you saved it (likely "Downloads"), and click send. Your phone should ask if you want to accept the file, select "yes", wait a few seconds, and it should show up. You should know how to select your alert tones.

Here's the file.

Oh, and if anyone knows of a soundboard that has Brick's maniacal laughter, I was hoping to make that my ringtone. HelloWaffles 05:45, February 11, 2010 (UTC)

Thanks, Waffles, but I can't open that file. I get this error message:

ScreenHunter 01 Feb. 11 00

Not sure what to do from there.
