Forums: Index > Watercooler > "Pistol" vs "Revolver"

I still don't have a lot of BL2 playtime on my account, but it seemed to me as if the only weapon type in Borderlands is "Pistol". There are no "Revolver", or "Machine Pistol" or "Machine Pistol" or what not.

I don't care what the body of the articles say, this is mostly a categorizing thing. Feedback? happypal (talk • contribs) 06:50, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

You mean Borderlands 2? Yeah, the pistols seem to be consolidated now. One ammo type says it all really. -- WarBlade (talk) 12:12, October 9, 2012 (UTC)

In BL2, the pistols are different via their manufacturer. eg. Jacob pistols are fashoned as revolvers, Vladof pistols are machine pistols, Maliwan are revolvers that have elements, and the rest (Tediore, Hyperion, Bandit) are basically repeaters. Also like ^WarBlade^ said, they all use pistol ammo. 02:49, October 10, 2012 (UTC)

There are enough changes between BL1 and BL2 weapon classes that BL2 should get all its own weapon class overview pages. Even weapons of the same class nsme (say, Sniper rifle) have little in common between the two games beyond the grossest features. Dämmerung 01:09, October 20, 2012 (UTC)

Like anon said, the type of handgun you recieve is based off the manufacturer. If you're looking for a revolver-type weapon, go with Jakobs or Maliwan. Regulare pistol, Tediore or Bandit. Abyss Raider (talk) 21:51, October 22, 2012 (UTC)
