The Florentine is a Seraph/E-tech submachine gun manufactured by Maliwan. It appears exclusively in Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep. The Florentine can be obtained from trading with the Seraph Vendor in Flamerock Refuge.

Special Weapon Effects

Double trouble – Fires shock projectiles which deal bonus slag damage on impact.[1] Consumes 2 ammo per shot.

Usage and Description

The Florentine behaves similar to a Maliwan Plasma Caster, firing large elemental projectiles which on impact do bonus splash damage equal to 50% of the listed projectile damage. In the case of the Florentine, the projectiles themselves are shock, while the bonus splash damage is slag. This combination of a relatively neutral element joined with a built-in slag effect is remarkably potent, especially in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode where damage boosts from slag are much higher.

Despite the inherent advantages of dual elements in one weapon, the Florentine has a lower damage-per-second than a standard Plasma Caster against slagged targets, since the slag-element splash damage will not benefit from the target being slagged unless in Ultimate Vault Hunter Mode. However, the Florentine makes an excellent replacement for a weapon intended to slag targets, as it will reliably apply slag effects while simultaneously inflicting a high amount of damage using an element that few enemies are resistant to.

Notes

  • The Florentine's damage is boosted by grenade damage bonuses.

Trivia

  • The name and red text are a reference to double weapon fighting, most commonly two swords or sword and dagger.
  • This weapon's effects are similar to the Chulainn, however, the wielder will not get slagged.
