Effect	Whenever you Freeze an enemy, you gain Flash Freeze for a short duration. During this time, you cannot gain or lose Maelstrom stacks.

Flash Freeze is a tier 5 skill in Athena's Ceraunic Storm skill tree. It prevents Maelstrom stacks from being gained or lost for a short duration when Athena applies a cryo status effect to an enemy.

Effects

Flash Freeze keeps the Maelstrom stack counts static and is useful for many combos, but is best when attempting to build an otherwise impossible stack count (i.e. 600+ with tesla / Storm Front grenades). Freezing a minor enemy allows Athena to retain that massive damage bonus for long periods (more so with boosts from appropriate class mods), which in turn helps taking down tough enemies with ease.

As for how to specifically utilize the bonus, explosive weapons are good examples due to them already dealing high bonus damage to frozen enemies. A high Maelstrom count will severely weaken, if not outright kill badasses and bosses. Other elemental weapons (including the same cryo weapon) can also take advantage of this to a lesser extent, as frozen enemies take bonus critical hit damage. For this reason, weapons such as the Absolute Zero, Fridgia and Freezeasy are the best weapons to use with this skill, as they have an extremely high chance to freeze enemies.
