Flama Diddle is a legendary shotgun in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Tediore. It is obtained randomly from any enemy that appears in Guns, Love, and Tentacles.
Special Weapon Effects[]
VIII. Never turn your back on a Monster! – Always incendiary. Increased damage. Fires 9 projectiles in an O-pattern (8 in a circle and 1 in the center) with the pattern expanding and contracting as it travels. Projectiles bounce once on contact with terrain. Projectiles deal splash damage.
Usage & Description[]
The Flama Diddle deals high damage compared to purple Tediore shotguns, and its shot pattern makes it highly accurate at hitting stationary targets even from afar, though its low projectile speed makes it necessary to lead the target. Reload throws vary, with erratic firing versions being effective for filling an enclosed space with short-term bullets, though homing turret variants may have trouble hitting enemies as they will not lead their target.
The Flama Diddle isn't very effective at higher Mayhem levels, due to its below average damage per second compared to other legendary weapons and lack of a useful effect.
Notes[]
- The Flama Diddle will always spawn with the prefix "Firesale" due to its guaranteed incendiary capacitor.
- Shots from the Flama Diddle resemble massive spikes.
- Hotfix 12/17/2020: Damage increased by 20%
Trivia[]
- The Flama Diddle appears to be the spiritual successor to the Omen, a Seraph shotgun by Tediore in Borderlands 2, though with added bouncing bullets and a fixed element.
- The name is derived from Flamadiddle, a percussion rudiment.
- The flavor text is a reference to the song La Villa Strangiato by Canadian rock band Rush.
- However, it contains an error as part 9 is titled as "Never turn your back on a Monster!" whereas part 8 (VIII as is in the flavour text) is titled as "The Waltz of the Shreves".
