You can get by without some or all of these if you are a high enough level or have enough patience and don't mind losing money to deaths, but having these items will make life much easier: -Powerful, accurate low zoom (1.0x-2.0x) shock sniper rifle with high elemental effect chance. -Powerful, accurate medium zoom (2.0x and up) corrosive sniper rifle with high elemental effect chance. -Decent corrosive and shock weapons for your different proficiencies (The Dove is a good choice, so is any revolver with 'Give Sick') -High level shock or corrosive elemental artifacts. -Ammo regen, ammo regen, ammo regen. -Health regen -Best shield you can find that boosts or regenerates health.
Begin the Chase
After ECHO is back up, head out to the Crimson Enclave and follow the waypoint out to the Salt Flats (Grab a Car at the Catch-a-Ride and take it through the travel checkpoint to save time). Once you enter the Flats, boost over to the cliffs blocking the entrance to the waypoint area. Hop out and run through the rocks. Kill the Lance units that have set up camp and head down into the side of the cliff.
The Descent
This is a linear area filled with lots of Crimson Lance and Guardians. Use the shock weapons for ground-based guardians and the shock sniper for the sera guardians. Alternate to Corrosive weapons for Lance soldiers.
Eridian Promontory
Stock up on ammo at the nearby machines and start the long walk to the vault. Keep switching techs depending on who you're fighting. In some places (most notably at the end) you will be fighting both Lance and Guardians at the same time. Try and keep your distance from the Lance, and make sure you get all the Guardian kills for massive amounts of experience. Keep a lightning-tech sniper handy for Sera and Arch Guardians. Once you reach the end, heal up, loot some ammo (the more the better) and enter The Vault.
Bugs/Glitches
This quest will be incompletable if the game crashes during the cutscene. This can only be fixed by doing the quest in an online game with someone else.
