The Companion is a legendary pistol in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Jakobs. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Anointed X-2 located in The Anvil on Eden-6.
Special Weapon Effects[]
You can't take the sky from me. – Fixed parts. Always spawns with iron sights. +156% damage, +15% reload speed and +10% critical hit damage.
Always incendiary, but cannot ignite without a critical hit. Fires elemental bolts. Increased magazine size and elemental damage. Critical hits do not spawn ricocheting shots.
Usage & Description[]
While generic Jakobs weaponry have strong crowd control abilities with the ricochet effect on a critical hit, the Companion eschews handling multiple enemies for increased single-target damage, especially against unshielded and unarmored enemies. The elemental effect is only triggered by a critical hit, but the powerful burn damage per second is almost as strong as the gun's bullet damage, giving it a high damage output so long as critical hits are landed. While the lack of scope limits precise aim, the fast fire rate and general stability of the weapon make it usable for mid-range combat.
Notes[]
- The Companion can sometimes change into an epic weapon. This isn't permanent as it seems to change each time it is loaded into the game. Quitting to the main menu and reloading the character should change it back to its legendary rarity.

- The name and flavor text are a reference to the 2002 television series Firefly.
- The Companion shares its camo with the Gatling Gun.
