The Fatale is a legendary submachine gun manufactured by Hyperion. Fatale is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Drongo Bones located in Outlands Canyon.
Special Weapon Effects
Stone-cold Killer – Always Cryo element. Increased accuracy, magazine size and critical hit damage, greatly increased recoil reduction rate.
Usage & Description
Despite the stats listed on the item card, in sustained fire the Fatale reaches its peak accuracy faster than most other Hyperion SMGs, even those of similar or higher levels. Its large magazine, high maximum accuracy, and critical hit damage bonus make it an excellent choice for almost any combat situation, especially attaining a Second Wind. Its only real drawback is that it is weak against Cryo-resistant enemies, which are particularly prevalent on True Vault Hunter Mode or higher.
The Fatale is well suited to "crit-fishing," with it's phenomenal accuracy even while hip-firing. Its cryo element further supports this playstyle by boosting the Fatale's crit damage once the enemy has been frozen.
This weapon differs from the Bitch found in Borderlands 2 in that the element is cryo locked, so the Fatale cannot receive bonuses for elemental damage.
Trivia
- Fatale is French feminine variant for "Fatal".
- A femme fatale is a very seductive and mysterious woman.
- This weapon was leaked in Kotaku's 8 Minutes of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel's Low-Gravity Action.
