The Fastball is a Legendary standard-type Grenade Mod manufactured by Tediore. The Fastball is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source, but has an increased chance to drop from Boll.

Usage & Description
The special effects from the fastball come from its unique delivery method part, a heavily modified mix between rubberized, longbow and lobbed sticky. When the Fastball is thrown it follows an arc similar to lobbed grenade, but traveling at extremely fast speed, while also sticking to enemies and bouncing from surfaces. The higher speed also makes the grenade travel longer distances than common lobbed grenades. The Fastball can only spawn with the lowest trigger component, and as such will always have a fuse time of 0.0
Even if the Fastball has an increase to base damage, its greatest downside is the blast radius. Like fuse time, it's always fixed, and even if the cards states 85 blast radius in practice it's almost null. Unless scoring a direct hit, the grenade will do marginal or no damage at all. Direct hits will only damage a single enemy, and even adjacent won't be affected.
As grenades tend to be used in most circumstances as a method of crowd control this is a mediocre grenade mod at best, and even with its unique delivery traits it won't replace any good grenade method with tactical delivery methods such as longbow. The requirement to directly hit foes to actually deal any damage increases the difficulty of use, and cripples even more its versatility.
