She's the only one who knows what it is to burn. – Always incendiary. When the projectile hits an enemy, it has a high chance to produce a pool of lava there that lasts for about 4 seconds that deals extremely high incendiary damage.
Usage & Description
Ember's Purge is an incredibly effective weapon against almost all enemies, especially flesh ones, as the lava pool effect deals extremely high damage, and can be used to annihilate multiple enemies at the same time. This comes at the cost of limited effectiveness against enemies with armor or shields with its fixed element and lack of a dual-element mode.
As the Ember's Purge relies on its lava pool to deal most of the damage, it is ineffective against flying enemies and in areas (slopes in particular) where the pool cannot spawn.
The lava pool does no damage to the character.
The "While under 50% health, deal 150% bonus radiation damage" and Bloody Harvest exclusive "While Terrified, deal 75% bonus cryo damage." anointment both grant their full damage bonuses to the puddle. The "On action skill end - 50% bonus elemental damage (specific element) with weapons for 10 seconds" anointments also add additional damage, but provide far less extra damage on Mayhem mode.
As the Ember's Purge is a challenge-only reward, farming it is only possible by creating a back-up of the save file before the quest is turned in or by restarting the DLC.
Hotfix 12/17/2020: Damage of lava pool massively increased.
