EMP is a legendary grenade mod in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Hyperion. It is obtained as a drop from Baron Noggin in Meridian Metroplex.

Drop the shields. – Always shock. Only damages shields.
Usage & Description[]
The EMP is only effective for depleting shields, as it is completely harmless against flesh or armor. It is particularly powerful against enemies with powerful shields or have health composed entirely of shields (such as Guardians), but is otherwise of rather niche use.
It can also be thrown at the character's feet to rapidly deplete their shields without risk of self-crippling for more efficient usage of shields like the Shooting Star.
