Director's Cut is a downloadable content pack for Borderlands 3. It adds a brief new questline to the game, in addition to an additional Raid boss and several bonus behind-the-scenes features.

Announced on February 10, 2021, Director's Cut was initially set to release on March 18, 2021, but due to severe weather in Texas impacting the last stages of development, it was delayed until April 8th, 2021. It is included with the second of Borderlands 3's Season Passes and Borderlands 3's Ultimate Edition, and is available for individual purchase for US$14.99.

New Content

Mysteriouslier

Ava has uncovered a series of supposedly supernatural killings throughout the various planets of the Borderlands, and is hoping to create a podcast with the help of the Vault Hunters and some of their other allies. This podcast, "Mysteriouslier," aims to investigate and solve these murders, bringing to light the person (or creature) responsible.

Raid Boss

Claptrap has learned of a gigantic varkid, Hemovorous the Invincible, hiding out on Pandora in Darkthirst Dominion, and sends the Vault Hunters to kill it for glory and loot.

Behind-the-Scenes

When Director's Cut is installed, a new 'Behind the Scenes' option appears on the game's main menu. Accessing the Behind the Scenes menu will allow players to view various concept arts, see short gameplay clips of various stages of development, glitches and bloopers. Also included is a fully voiced animatic of an unused cutscene that would have taken place at some point after the events of the mission Beneath the Meridian.
