Devastator is a seraph pistol in Captain Scarlett and Her Pirate's Booty manufactured by Torgue. The Devastator can be obtained from trading with the Seraph Vendor in Oasis in True Vault Hunter Mode and Normal or as a rare drop from Master Gee the Invincible or Hyperius the Invincible.

Special Weapon Effects

Hail. – Increased damage and fires a two-round burst. Decreased bullet velocity.

Usage & Description

The Devastator is an excellent close-quarters pistol. Its accuracy is atrocious and is hindered further by its slow projectile velocity, but its fire rate is effectively double what is listed on the item card, making it far faster than most Torgue revolvers, and all Devestators but those with the Double Penetrating prefix only take one ammo per shot despite the raw power of the weapon. The sheer amount of high-damage explosions can make it surprisingly effective at longer ranges. A Gunzerker with Keep Firing... can make great use of the Devastator, especially using a shotgun or another Torgue pistol as its companion, such as the Pocket Rocket or Unkempt Harold.

Notes

  • A Devastator with the "Double Penetrating" prefix will fire four bullets instead of two.
  • The Devastator deals an additional 100% damage as splash damage. This damage is boosted by grenade damage bonuses.

Trivia

  • The weapon's flavor text is a reference to the Duke Nukem video game franchise. One of the titular character's lines is "Hail to the king, baby!" Additionally, there is a weapon in the Duke Nukem series that fires mini-rocket projectiles and is also called the Devastator.
