Cursehaven is under the control of Eleanor and her Bonded cult with the town's residents being afflicted by various curses.
At irregular intervals, Eleanor carries out the ritual of Renewal by offering selected Cursehaven residents as a human sacrifice to the Heart of Gythian in order to transfer the consciousness of her lover, Vincent to a new surrogate body.
