Help Moxxi recruit for the Crimson Alliance by sabotaging the Children of the Vault's Broadcast Towers.
Crimson Radios are location-based challenges found throughout Borderlands 3. They are given and tracked by Moxxi, and involves the Vault Hunter sabotaging radio propaganda from the Children of the Vault. Crimson Radio challenges are focused on platforming.
Crimson Radio quests are considered Crew Challenges, hidden collectibles that can be found throughout each playable map, and are listed in "Zone Progress" in the map tab by pressing R. There are 22 Crimson Radio challenges in total.
Background[]
Moxxi will first notify the player of the existence of COV radio/propaganda stations once they get close enough to one (eg. seeing it on the minimap). She encourages the player to sabotage said stations to reduce the influence of the Calypso Twins, and to help increase the numbers of the Crimson Alliance, who are followers of the Crimson Raiders.
Players will generally be able to figure out the location of a propaganda station by hearing COV-related news, adverts and music from nearby speakers. These speakers can be turned off, but the radio station will only be considered "sabotaged" if the main control panel is turned off. This control panel is typically located very high up, which requires smart analysis of the environment to figure out how to climb and access the panel.
Once the radio station is sabotaged, Moxxi will thank the player, and they will be rewarded with some currency and experience. The radio station will then begin playing Crimson Raider-focused media for as long as the player is on the map. The radio station will switch back to COV-related broadcasts once the player leaves the map or restarts, but the crew challenge will still be considered complete.
The player can track their Crimson Radio progress through a chart in Moxxi's bar on Sanctuary III. Each filled heart grants the player a unique reward.
