Complex Root is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Maliwan.
The Complex Root is exclusive to Bounty of Blood DLC for Borderlands 3 and is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.

Your brain is a creative computer – Spawns additional projectiles that travel in random directions.
Usage & Description
The Complex Root creates additional projectiles mid-trajectory and on impact that travel at random 45° angles but don't stray far from their origin. These projectiles will explode if they hit a target, effectively increasing the per shot damage of the weapon.
Due to the nature of the projectiles, the Complex Root is more effective against larger or stationary targets as smaller or moving targets are more likely to dodge the additional projectiles.
Notes
- The projectiles spawned will initially travel adjacent to the original projectile.
Trivia
- The weapon's name comes from a complex root, the value of an equation which makes it equal zero that includes an imaginary number.
- The weapon's flavor text is a reference to the song "Your Brain is a Creative Computer" that features in the Dexter's Laboratory episode Golden Diskette.
