Complex Root is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Maliwan and is exclusive to Bounty of Blood DLC. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source but has an increased chance to drop from Lani Dixon located in Ashfall Peaks.

Usage & Description
The Complex Root fires two parallel projectiles one above the other. Of these two projectiles, one will travel half of the weapon's maximum range while the other travels the full distance.
On impact with an enemy, or after the projectile's travel time has expired, both of the two primary projectiles will create several child projectiles.
The child projectiles initially travel outward from the point of impact and then take a few seemingly random 45° sharp-angle turns after traveling a fixed distance, but don't stray far from their origin. The speed of travel for the child-projectiles is relatively slow. These child-projectiles will explode if they hit a target, effectively increasing the per shot damage of the weapon.
Due to the nature of the projectiles, the Complex Root is more effective against larger or stationary targets as smaller or moving targets are more likely to dodge the additional projectiles.
It should also be noted that the effective range of the Complex Root is limited by the travel time of the primary projectiles since they disappear and spawn the child projectiles after a set amount of travel time.
