Cocky Bastard is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Jakobs. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source exclusively in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles DLC.

Great, kid. – On a critical hit, deals shock damage equivalent to the critical hit.

Usage & Description[]

The Cocky Bastard's unique perk essentially doubles the damage of a critical hit, making it exceptionally powerful for sniping critical spots. It can be used as a reliable sniper rifle that few enemies can resist against.

Notes[]

The Cocky Bastard and Skullmasher were previously glitched and would only spawn in loot chests of its DLC. This was patched in the April 24, 2020 hotfix, and now both weapons drop from Eista.

Trivia[]

The name and flavor text are a reference to the 1977 film Star Wars: Episode IV – A New Hope when Han Solo tells Luke Skywalker: "Great, kid. Don't get cocky."
