Shotguns

Shotguns are powerful close-range weapons that shoot a spray of pellets. They tend to have low accuracy, high power, and often long reload times. They can be good for dealing large damage up close, or hitting multiple targets at long range. The most common effect that shotguns have are increased projectiles. This, coupled with high power, can produce a deadly weapon for close range. They work best with a mid-range accuracy; Small enough to hit your target, but large enough to hit multiple from long distance.

Much like the other weapon classes, there are series' of shotguns that act out of the ordinary, one of these are the Crux series, which fire all pellets in a plues sign pattern (crux being latin for cross). This causes the weapon to be slightly more accurate than most, but a little less effective if trying to hit multiple enemies at one time due to its fixed pattern. Other than the firing pattern though, these weapons dont differ from other shotguns at all, they can be elemental just like any other shotgun. The same goes for the Hammer series, which is much like the Crux series of shotguns, just instead of a plus sign, they form a hammer (though harder to see). Cross their heart, hope they die. is on all Crux shotguns, while Drop the Hammer! is for the Hammer series.

Another series of shotgun that really stands out from the rest, are the carnage series, that as seen from the red text that comes with each one, these shoot rockets instead of pellets, but still require shotgun ammo, and do not use any rocket ammo. These are pretty much inaccurate rocket launchers though, so their actual use is limited, but who can resist a shotgun that shoots rockets?

One series that doesn't really stand out but should be noted, is the Bulldog series that all have One Bad Dog! which gives them all extended magazines, but other than that are nothing special or different from normal shotguns.
