Burton Briggs is an NPC and mission provider in Guns, Love, and Tentacles. He is the detective of Cursehaven and a supporting character during the DLC's story. Like all inhabitants of Cursehaven, he is stricken with a curse from Gythian, which causes him to forget details constantly as if there was "a dark fog in his head".
Burton provides the side missions Cold Case: Buried Questions, Cold Case: Restless Memories and Cold Case: Forgotten Answers, which aim to help him solve his mysterious past of which he has forgotten.
Involvement
Burton Briggs is mentioned by Mancubus Bloodtooth, who advises the Vault Hunters to find him at his house, The Eye Witness, to gain access to the Dustbound Archives. While Burton is not found in his house, he will eventually be found in the town's graveyard being attacked by Krich. After saving him, Burton will introduce himself as the town's detective, and mentions his goal of solving a personal mystery that has eluded his mind. He provides the Vault Hunters the key to the archives, with the side goal of hoping the archive's logs would shed light on his situation. From there, he returns to The Eye Witness while giving commentary as the Vault Hunters find echo logs of Eleanor and Vincent's pasts.
