The Boxxy Gunn is a unique SMG manufactured by Tediore. It is a possible reward for completing Digistructed Madness: Round 2 and Digistructed Madness: The Badass Round in The Holodome Onslaught DLC. It can also be dropped by Guardian Pondors and Lost Legion Ascended Powersuits.

Special Weapon Effects

It's totally a flamethrower. – Always shock. Increased bullet damage, reduced reload speed and projectile speed. Projectiles fired ricochet twice. When reloaded, it may explode in the user's hands and cause shock damage. The chance to explode in the user's hands increases as more ammo is left in the gun.

Usage & Description

As a shock element weapon with respectable damage, the Boxxy Gunn is very effective against enemies with large shields. However, as a Tediore weapon where reloading the gun with only a few bullets missing is often a viable method of causing significant damage in a single burst, its potential to damage or even kill its user can make it an unappealing choice.

The Boxxy Gunn's damage can be boosted by an Athena specced into her Ceraunic Storm skill tree, with Maelstrom potentially adding significant additional shock damage to the Boxxy Gunn's base damage. As Boxxy Gun's mechanics encourage the gun to be continuously fired in order to prevent an explosion in the user's hands it's very easy to gain stacks with it.

Notes

The Boxxy Gunn is one of the rare guns that in addition to its red flavor text, features a unique line of white text on its item card — "Unstable reloads". This was expanded upon in a later update, which changed the text to read "Inherently unstable ammunition. Reload carefully!"
- The unstable Self-Destruct mechanic used to be present in Earlier versions of BL2, but was scrapped.
The Boxxy Gunn was first shown in a promotional image for The Holodome Onslaught, along with the Cry Baby, Plunkett, Party Line, T4s-R and Berrigan.
