A Boss is a special unique type of enemy in games such as Borderlands. The main bosses are considerably tougher than most enemies, and may require special strategies to defeat.
Borderlands Bosses
Bosses that are denoted by an asterisk below can appear in Mad Moxxi's Underdome Riot as adversaries in the arena.

Main Bosses
These are the main bosses in the Borderlands story. Each must be fought in order to progress through the main story line. The first time a character is introduced to some of these main bosses they will be treated to a brief cutscene and a static splash page that carries a tagline about the boss. The only exceptions being Mad Mel, Roid Rage Psycho, Jaynis and Taylor Kobb, Hanz and Franz, Bone Head, Master McCloud and The Destroyer.
