The Borderlands games are first-person looter shooters with role-playing game elements set in an open world within a space Western science fantasy setting. It currently consists of eight games including the upcoming Borderlands 4.

The player takes control of a Vault Hunter, choosing a class to best fit their play style, clash with enemies, and loot an arsenal of outrageously powerful guns.
