Borderlands Online was an online shooter developed by Shanda Games from 2014, until the company was shut down at the end of 2015[1]. The game was set in the Borderlands universe, and was planned to be released exclusively in China in free-to-play format.

Story[]

In the not-too-distant future, humanity has long since abandoned its no-longer-habitable home planet and is searching for new galaxies in deep space to live in.

But on Pandora, a frontier planet far from the central civilisation, the competition for rare minerals is intensifying, and the entire planet is at war, a terra incognita full of opportunities and dangers. Here, everything depends on the gun in hand. At the same time, a mysterious treasure trove also appeared here, the news spread, attracting countless adventurers to come to find out.

The player takes on the role of the protagonist, a trained treasure hunter, who is enlisted to board a spaceship and travel to Pandora in the midst of this gold rush. In the orbit of this Borderland, the main character travelling on the ship was shot down by sudden gunfire and crashed into the atmosphere amidst the whispering of a mysterious woman.[2]

Character Classes[]

Borderlands Online was planned to have four player-character classes (the same than Borderlands): a Berserker, a Hunter, a Siren, and a Soldier.
