“Look out, everybody, things are about to get awesome!”
Increases Damage of one elemental type. Also improves Cooldown Rate.
Usage & Description
Due to this, it is advisable for either Maya, Gaige, or Krieg to use it, due to their strong proficiency with elemental attacks, and while Maya has a reletively short cooldown, Gaige and Krieg have long ones, meaning that they will get the most out of the Bone of the Ancients, especially a shock variant and fire variant, respectively.
It's worth noting that a Bone of the Ancients relic is better than an Elemental relic unless the element you want to buff is either Slag or Explosive. This is because both the Bone of the Ancients and the Elemental relics have a cap of +33% elemental damage. Therefore, as long as you don't need a Slag or Explosive type buff (which Bone of the Ancients cannot spawn with) you are always better off with the Bone of the Ancients for the added cooldown bonus. By comparison, if you would rather emphasize the cooldown bonus, it is still possible to get a Proficiency Relic with a higher bonus than Bone of the Ancients. For example, a mechromancer who makes heavy use of Deathtrap but minimal use of Shock weapons might find the Proficiency relic more appropriate.
