Slagged Bloodwing is a boss in Borderlands 2.
Involvement
Handsome Jack captures Bloodwing during the events of Borderlands 2, and uses slag to mutate her; increasing her size considerably and endowing her with various elemental effects. After Bloodwing is weakened sufficiently, Mordecai uses a tranquilizer shot on her. However, Jack then proceeds to detonate an explosive collar on Bloodwing, killing the bird.
Strateg
When facing off against this dangerous foe, it is important not to get distracted by the skags that come out of the two side doors in the boss area. The best strategy for a team is to have the assassin draw bloodwings attacks, using his speed to easily avoid them, while the rest of the team unloads everything they have into the monstrous bird. If bloodwing is killed using the first weapon obtained in the game (The pistol given to you by claptrap to kill nuckledragger) There is a small chance that it will drop a "bloodwings feather". If you give this to mordecai he will reward you with his rifle, the "Snipocalypse". This weapon does explosive damage and has 98% accuracy.
Notes
- Returning to the site where the boss fight took place will not spawn a new Slagged Bloodwing; instead, the player will fight Son of Mothrakk.
- Bloodwing's headless body can later be found on a pedestal in Opportunity.
- There is a sketch in the end credits of Mordecai with a small bird that just hatched out of an egg.
Trivia
- In Borderlands 1, Mordecai refers to Bloodwing as "boy", however, in Borderlands 2 Mordecai refers to Bloodwing as a her.
