Binary Operator is a legendary sniper rifle in Borderlands 3 manufactured by Maliwan, and is exclusive to the Designer's Cut DLC. It is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source at Stormblind Complex during the Arms Race mode, and can be brought outside of the area when extracted with a Gear Extractor.

- -100% weapon damage (listed as 1-2). -50% projectile speed. Always non-elemental. Must fully charge to fire.
- Has a hidden weapon damage value, and kills its target instantly if their health is lower than said value. Otherwise, they take minuscule (1-2) damage.
Usage & Description[]
The Binary Operator's hidden damage value can be increased by the weapon's level or the Vault Hunter's weapon damage stats. Nevertheless, it is overall inefficient as it cannot hope to whittle down enemies on its own, and weapons that supposedly aid it in its task are perfectly capable of accomplishing it themselves.
Trivia[]
- The flavor text is a reference to the 1980 film Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back where the character Yoda says, "Do or do not, there is no try." This relates to the weapon name and effect since a binary operator only has two possible outcomes, much like how it either kills its target or barely scratches it.
