Despite having a higher ''listed'' Fire Rate than the Badaboom, the Berrigan fires in a burst, which mean that--unlike the Badaboom--it delivers its total damage over the space of about 2 seconds, instead of instantaneously. The Berrigan (like many Dahl weapons) then has a burst fire delay, which unfortunately is actually quite long, at around 2-2.5 seconds. The Badaboom ''fires'' at a lower speed, but because it delivers its payload all at once and has no such burst fire delay, it ends up delivering more rockets, more quickly than the Berrigan can. Additionally, by merit of being Scav manufactured, the Badaboom has nearly 50% higher base damage, further outpacing the Berrigan.

The only stat in which the Berrigan excels is reload speed, in which it is 2-4 seconds faster than the Badaboom. However, the Badaboom also has a higher magazine size, so the improved reload ends up being an almost irrelevant bonus.

The Badaboom, however, has no designated loot source, so, depending on player skill and difficulty level, it may be easier to acquire the Berrigan (by playing the Holodome missions).

The Berrigan is a legendary aftermarket rocket launcher manufactured by Vladof. It is a possible reward for completing the badass round of The Holodome Onslaught.

Special Weapon Effects

Your gun is good, but mine is better! – Fires a 3 shot burst, firing 2 rockets at a time. Only uses 1 ammo per trigger pull.

Usage & Description

The Berrigan, like many of the other weapons introduced by the Holodome Onslaught DLC, suffers from certain characteristics that make it an inferior weapon. Though the Berrigan is not bad, per se, it is quite literally an inferior form of the Scav-manufactured Badaboom. Both fire 6 projectiles at the cost of a single rocket ammunition, but several mechanical differences allow the Badaboom to outclass the Berrigan by a wide margin.

Despite having a higher listed Fire Rate than the Badaboom, the Berrigan fires in a burst, which mean that--unlike the Badaboom--it delivers its total damage over the space of about 2 seconds, instead of instantaneously. The Berrigan (like many Dahl weapons) then has a burst fire delay, which unfortunately is actually quite long, at around 2-2.5 seconds. The Badaboom fires at a lower speed, but because it delivers its payload all at once and has no such burst fire delay, it ends up delivering more rockets, more quickly than the Berrigan can.

Trivia

  • Level artist Brad Sierzega named the Berrigan in memory of a close friend who had passed away before the completion of Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel.[1]
