The Avenger is a Pearlescent Submachine Gun manufactured by Tediore. The Avenger can be obtained randomly from any loot source, but has a higher chance to drop from human Badasses.
Special Weapon Effects
Counterbution revengence. The reckoning. – High overall stats. When thrown, bounces on the ground and fires full auto in circles until empty, then explodes normally. Regenerates SMG ammo while wielded.
Usage & Description
The Avenger is an above-average submachine gun in most respects, but as with most Tediore weapons its primary use is reload-throwing. The storm of bullets it creates is very useful in a crowd, and the additional explosion is just icing on the cake. As with the top-tier Tediore weapons of old, the Avenger regenerates ammo of its type. As Tediore weapons can now be reload-thrown, this ability proves to be much more useful than it originally was and extends your ability to use it in prolonged combat. This ability generally proves redundant for Gunzerkers, but is nonetheless one of the factors that make it a viable weapon for use with any class.
Notes
- Only the final explosions of the reload is affected by the remaining bullets in a clip.
- The special projectiles of the reload apply the element of the weapon and are affected by grenade, gun, elemental and amp damage bonuses. Source - Analysis

Trivia
- This weapon shares its name with a Pearlescent combat rifle from Borderlands, which is also manufactured by Tediore.
- The Avenger's ammo regeneration ability is a throwback to the special ability all Legendary-or-higher Tediore weapons shared in Borderlands.
