Lady Aurelia Hammerlock is the playable Baroness class character in Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel. She is a Vault Hunter who was responsible for helping Handsome Jack rise to power, and is the sister of Sir Hammerlock.

She appears as a major antagonist in Borderlands 3, located in Blackbarrel Cellars on Eden-6.

Background

The heiress of the Hammerlock family fortune, Aurelia is the sister of Sir Alistair Hammerlock, with whom she shares a strained relationship due to her miserable treatment of him. As an exorbitantly wealthy socialite, she has taken up the hobby of hunting, traveling the galaxy to seek dangerous creatures to kill as well as making her brother's life even more miserable. Her travels eventually brought her to Elpis, where she wound up with a group of Vault Hunters hired by Jack.

According to Gaige's dialog in the Holodome Onslaught DLC, Aurelia was found on Epitah by Gaige and Axton, who were under orders from Lilith to find the vault on the planet. They managed to find Aurelia, under the additional order to kill her for her involvement with Hyperion. Before the order was carried out, Lilith ordered them to not kill Aurelia and bring her to Pandora, after Athena's execution was stopped by The Watcher, who warned them that war was approaching.

During the events of Borderlands 3, Aurelia has taken over the Jakobs Corporation. With the help of Tyreen and Troy Calypso, Aurelia has Montgomery Jakobs murdered and seizes the office of CEO. When the new Vault Hunters show up on Eden-6 to reclaim the Eden-6 vault key, Aurelia offers them a huge sum of money to leave the planet. The Vault Hunter accepts the invitation on the advice of Sir Hammerlock, all the while plotting to steal the key while Aurelia is distracted. Sir Hammerlock and Wainwright Jakobs are successful in solving the puzzles to find the key fragment, but Aurelia stops them before they can get away. Hammerlock tries to reason with his sister, but Aurelia shoots and wounds both him and Wainwright before facing off against the Vault Hunters. Once she is dead, Sir Hammerlock thanks the Vault Hunters for giving her a chance.
