Ascendant Malechs are Badass-class enemies encountered in the Guns, Love, and Tentacles expansion for Borderlands 3. They serve as field priests and assault leaders for the Bonded cult.
Strategy
Much like other light troops, Ascendant Malechs will seek cover and engage their opponents from there. Unlike their brethren, however, they are equipped with shielding. They will also occasionally throw grenades or, often, a corrupted heart that will create an area-of-denial seething with dark energies. They also can conjure 3 Shade Malechs to provide offensive support for themselves and their allies.
Due to their durable shielding and overall high health, Ascendant Malechs should be killed or hindered as soon as possible, as they can cause considerable issues on the battlefield.

- In Mayhem Mode and True Vault Hunter Mode they are renamed Ascendant Malechar.
