area efect is the Title of a group of Rocket Launchers in Borderlands 2. They are manufactured exclusively by Bandit. The area efect is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
Usage & Description
This weapon may be the best and the worst launcher in Borderlands 2. The launcher fires three projectiles for only one ammo, and the projectiles arrive on target nearly instantaneously. Its accuracy is incredible, too, and does not go down with firing. It also does spectacular damage. Lastly, the magazine size is nice.
The thing that makes it the worst launcher (in spite of all the benefits listed above) is that its projectiles go straight through most targets (man-sized up to Loader-sized). Only very large targets (such as constructors or bosses like Saturn or BNK-3R) may be hit directly.
As a result, when using this weapon, the only real way to deal any damage to normal targets is to hit the ground under the target or a wall next to the target. This can take some getting used to, and makes the rocket launcher a little frustrating.
