area efect is the title of a group of common rocket launchers in Borderlands 2. They are manufactured exclusively by Bandit using the Maliwan muzzle. The area efect is obtained randomly from any suitable loot source.
Usage & Description
The area efect fires three projectiles for only one ammo, and the projectiles have a high velocity. Its accuracy is high and does not diminish with firing. It also does high damage.
The thing that detracts from its effectiveness is that its projectiles go straight through most targets (man-sized up to loader-sized). Only very large targets may be hit directly.
As a result, when using this weapon, the only real way to deal any damage to normal targets is to hit the ground under the target or a wall next to the target. This can take some getting used to, and makes the rocket launcher a little frustrating.
