Anointed Militants are an Anointed enemy encountered in Borderlands 3.
Background
Anointed Militants are very rare spawns and are easily distinguished by their purple complexion. Unlike their brethren, they do not possess Phasewalk abilities, but compensate with extreme staying power.
Anointed Militants are typically considered the most dangerous and infuriating non-boss enemies in the game, due to their ability to constantly gain immunity to damage.
While they are very slow, Anointed Militants have several attacks that cause them to be intimidating enemies:
- Once they notice the Vault Hunter, they typically generate a purple force field in front of themselves, acting as a barrier that completely negates any damage done to the front of the Militant.
- The Militant will stand in place and burst into flame, gaining complete immunity to damage. They will then fire flaming lasers from the sky one by one. Each laser causes a flaming puddle on the ground, which can make maneuvering difficult.
- Occasionally during the Militant's flame attack, they will summon additional enemies, which can even include more Anointed Militants. This can quickly overwhelm the Vault Hunter with a wall of several immune enemies.
