Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep: A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure is a standalone re-release of the downloadable content pack Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep originally developed for Borderlands 2. It is completely standalone from Borderlands 2, and does not require nor is compatible with the base game at all.
A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure was announced and released on November 9th, 2021 for PlayStation 4 (and PlayStation 5 via backwards compatibility), Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC via Steam and Epic Games Store. The Epic Games Store release was for a limited time free of charge until November 16th, 2021, whilst it retails for USD$9.99, the same price point as the initial release of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep.
New/Altered Features[]
The A Wonderlands One-Shot Adventure release of Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is identical to its original release from a story and gameplay perspective, but there are some notable key differences:
- The main menu has been redesigned, depicting Flamerock Refuge rather than a cliffside overlooking the Highlands.
- An additional cutscene giving a brief recap of the events from Borderlands 2 plays before the original introductory cutscene to the campaign.
- Within the in-game Gameplay options menu there is a new "Easy Mode" setting, that decreases the amount of damage done to the player's character.
- Due to the standalone nature of its release, the campaign's scaling has been completely revamped. Vault Hunters begin at level 1 with no gear and no Action Skill, identically to how the original Borderlands 2 campaign began.
- The level cap in Normal Mode is 18. True Vault Hunter mode begins at level 17. The overall level cap is 35. There is no Ultimate Vault Hunter mode.
- As such, the "Capped Out…For Now" achievement can be met at level 35 with a corresponding icon.
- All six Borderlands 2 Vault Hunters are available to play as, with no need to download additional DLC to access Krieg or Gaige.
- Vault Hunters gain access to their Action Skill upon leveling up to level 2, with each level up granting 2 skill points at a time.
- A large number of features have been added to Flamerock Refuge:
- Crazy Earl's Black Market appears near the Seraph Vendor.
- You can only purchase each upgrade 5 times (up to orange), however.
- Inside Moxxi's Tavern, the Bank appears beside the slot machines.
- Outside and across the path from Moxxi's Tavern is the Rainbow Chest, which behaves akin to a slightly improved Golden Chest and requires Skeleton Keys to open.
- Marcus Kincaid appears next to Ellie in the main square.
- The Secret Stash appears next to the main square's vending machines. It is always unlocked without needing any quest.
- Crazy Earl's Black Market appears near the Seraph Vendor.
- Lootapults have been added to Flamerock Refuge and Mines of Avarice. They can catapult loot that always match current player level.
- A number of new unique items have been added, as well as an entirely new shield type - Kite Shields, which push melee attackers away when struck. The unique and Legendary grenade and class mods that were in the original Dragon Keep campaign are much more common and can drop from more sources.
- Some unique weapons given in Borderlands 2 as mission rewards can now spawn as random loot.
- Some missions, enemies and bosses reward different or additional loot from their original counterparts.
- Seraph crystals drop regardless of difficulty level and can drop from any enemy, with badass and boss enemies having higher drop chances. Eridium drops are also significantly increased.
- Two quests from Borderlands 2, The Bane and Shoot This Guy in the Face, have been imported into the campaign and tweaked to fit the fantasy setting.
